BAM Plant Community Project 2010 - Park Road Junior School

BAM Plant Community Project 2010 - Park Road Junior School

We are creating a nautical garden using dinghy hulls to make gardening planters, which will create an exciting and stimulating environment for young minds to experince the joys of sowing seeds and growing plants (an experience the vast majority would never get).

How can you help?

We need fibre glass dinghy hulls

Throughout the UK, there are over 1500 sailing clubs and in their dinghy parks are “dead boats” waiting to be disposed of.

We can recycle these – we just need the contacts.

Do you have any contacts with sailing clubs – or know anybody who does?

Your help will be gratefully received by us and by the children of Park Road Junior School.

Offshore - Funding 2010

HOW TO APPLY FOR OFFSHORE FUNDING - 2010

This document is intended to assist Sea Cadet Units making application for funding to the SEVEN SEAS CLUB BAXTER & GRIMSHAW TRUST .

The Seven Seas Club Baxter & Grimshaw Trust, a registered charity, seeks to ‘Promote and Foster the Comradeship of the Sea ‘ by means of financial assistance to young people wishing to sail offshore.

Our Charitable Deed of Trust requires that successful applicants meet three conditions.

That they are under the age of 25 years.
That the grant is for sail/nautical training.
That the candidate should be from a disadvantaged background.

Applications must take the following form………

a) Applications should come through the Unit thus providing a single point of contact. Therefore Unit and C.O and A.O telephone numbers are essential and they should take control of the applications.

b) It is not the intention of the trustees to embarrass Cadets in respect of 3 above, nevertheless without this information the application will be rejected, therefore the ‘disadvantaged background ‘of the individual applicant is best supported by a letter from the relevant Commanding Officer or Admin Officer.

c) A letter from the Cadet to the Hon. Sec., giving their full name, age, Unit, short details of cadet service, total cost of the proposed voyage/training, dates and the code number of the voyage.

The Trustees believe that all applications should be dealt with on their individual merits but make the following observations. Applicants should as far as possible have made some financial contribution to their voyage/training. The Trustees do not wish to give any impression that life should simply consist of holding out a hand and asking for monies. The Trustees believe that applicants who have invested their own efforts and money in the project are unlikely to pull out at the last minute. The Trustees will consider all applications with despatch when they are received. Successful applicants will be informed of any decision as soon as possible. Grants are NOT as a rule paid directly to applicants but directly to the Offshore Office. Should the applicant fail to undertake the voyage it is unlikely that the Trust will meet any costs.

The following must be strictly adhered to………….

In the event of a Cadet being unable to undertake an agreed voyage a substitute will NOT paid for by the Trust without prior reference to the Hon.Sec., A verbal arrangement may be made with the relevant paperwork to follow. Please give the Hon.Sec., as much notice as possible in all applications.

Please telephone me and remember much can be sorted out on the telephone and followed up by E mail and letter.
